Have you ever wondered why some things float on water while others sink? When we put different objects in water, some float on the surface, while others sink to the bottom. We can learn about this by doing simple experiments with water.

- Some objects float on water.
- Some objects sink in water.
- An empty plastic bottle can float, but a bottle filled with water can sink.
- The shape of an object can also affect whether it floats or sinks.
- For example, aluminium foil can float when it is shaped like a small cup, but it may sink when pressed into a tight ball.

Put these objects in a bowl of water and observe what happens:
